Switching doctors....
how did you do it? I have been considering switching to a midwife since I got pregnant. Last night DH and I went for a consultation with the Stony Brook Midwives and I am definately switching, but I'm wondering how to do it appropriately. Do I just call my old OB cancel my next appointment and tell them I am faxing them a medical release form? I guess I'm making this more difficult than it needs to be, but I don't want to be rude to my old docs -- there's nothing wrong with them I just like the more personalized care offered by the midwives.

All you have to do is sign a release of records and have your old Dr's office send them to the new office. It;s easy I'm in the process- just make sure you tell them you need it done ASAP and have the midwife make sure they have EVERYTHING from the old place.
