Gah. DH lost his monthly train ticket. First week of June...
In all his commuting years, this has never happened to him. I worked in the city, and I kept it in my wallet....he moves it around from shirt to shirt. It was bound to happen. UGH! He thinks it fell out of his pocket last night on the train..... Here you go, LIRR...another $300 for crap-tastic service!

 That's so frustrating! Sorry that happened to your DH, tell him to make sure he keeps it in his wallet now.

*******CALL LOST AND FOUND******
Seriously, if he lost it on the train, there is an excellent chance they have it. My FH lost his and I made him call - they had it and he went to pick it up. They get TONS of them, so I bet they have his. THey told my FH that no one ever calls the claim them and they pile up. They keep track of what train they came from, etc. He really should call!

yes! I lost mine on the train once when I changed trains and they brought it to Penn. I was so relieved and never lost it again!

did he buy it with a credit card? I know with metro cards if you lose your monthly pass and you bought it with a credit card, they will give you a new one. Not sure if LIRR does the same thing.

I lost mine and they reimbursed me. I don't remember the exact circumstances but I had to put a claim in and I was able to get money back. Do it soon so you can get the most back.

This happened to me last year and they reimbursed me too-you have to write a letter and put a claim in.
