Teachers, new contract question....
So, what is your school doing about this 37 minute tutoring session 4 days a week? If they add on 37 minutes to my day, school will not end until 4:15. This is insane. Isn't school not supose to go past a certain time?
I know we start later at 9:15 since we live in a multi-school building, but this is insane. The union rep just looked at me like I was nuts when I complained today!

My school will go until 3:27, 2:50 is/was our regular dismissial time. Yes, school is not allowed to go past a certain time for the children and I believe it's 3:30, I could be wrong though. Or they may have changed it.

Re: Teachers, new contract question....
I think the kids can't get there before 7:45 and have to leave by 3:45. Each school is doing there own thing. I work in 2 schools and I know at least one school is taking a vote on coming in earlier to make up the time or staying later. I don't think anyone knows what they are doing.

Re: Teachers, new contract question....
We are looking into the possibility of moving our starting time back to 8 from 8:30. I get here at 7 already, so that would be preferable to me. Maybe that will be a possibility at your school.

Re: Teachers, new contract question....
We are housed in a building with 4 other schools. We have to start later because of there being too many students entering the building at the same time.
I am not looking forward to this at all!
