Braxton Hicks....

when should you start to worry about them? I had never experienced them before, but last night, I was sitting on the couch and started to get very uncomfortable cramping and my back started to hurt. I was really scared, so after about ten minutes, I paged my dr.'s office. The dr. said to lay down and drink plenty of fluids, and that if was still feeling them in an hour, to call back and they would meet me at the ER. They went away thank god, but how do you know when to worry? Because I can't imagine feeling that again and just telling myself, "Oh, it's just Braxton Hicks." I was terrified

they can't have a rythm to them, once the start coming more often for 1 hr, that is when you get concerned. They also shouldn't take your breath away, if they just feel uncomfortable and annoying that is fine, but if you have to stop in your tracks and can't speak, that is a sure sign to lay down on your left side, drink LOTS of fluids, and keep a mental note of when they are coming.

My doctor told me if they are coming every 10- mins and/or I'm having 6 an hour, then they would be concerned.

Sounds like normal BH that you had, dont worry.
