NYC DOE Teachers what insurance plan did you choose? (M)
This is my first experience with the DOE and I am trying to figure out the best choice. I am coming from a school where I paid 40.00 a month for medical (2 people) and some of the DOE plans are expensive. Do most people choose the GHI plan? Is there anywhere where I can obtain a summary of benefits? I am curious what is covered under each of these different policies. And, No I didn't meet with the payroll secretary yet she has been on vacation! Thanks for all of your help!

I have the GHI plan, which is free. The copayments are $10 and the prescriptions range from $5- $20 depending on what it is.
Maybe the uft website would have info on it... I think its www.uft.org

I have GHI and have heard only good things. I was told to get the overrider plan, or something like that, for another couple of bucks. It is supposed to cover more.
