Maternity Leave Question
Did anyones annual $ increase get affected by your maternity leave? HR wants to change my review date by 2 months because of my maternity leave. Does that make sense. Did this happen to anyone?

Re: Maternity Leave Question
As long as the raise goes retro to the date the review should've taken place, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Re: Maternity Leave Question
It doesn't - They are changing my review date (was May 15 - It's now July 15). So the raise I should have rec'vd on May 15th, I won't rec'v until July 15th.
HR told me it's company policy. I'm so aggravated!

Odd that they would have a company policy where you are financially affected by a disability. I could see if they are referring to unpaid leave, but not the 6-8 weeks of disability. There is a written policy on reviews?

No written policy on reviews or on disability. I find it odd too.

Re: Maternity Leave Question
Yes, this happened to me, I took 14 weeks off maternity leave so my review date was moved forward and I had to wait an additional 14 weeks.

Disabilities affect our bonuses here too - because they are prorated. But disabilities shouldn't affect increases/reviews.

Re: Maternity Leave Question
That sounds really odd. Can you call the labor department to see if that's allowed. I guess if they're doing it then it is but it never hurts to check.

That's a good question - I'm trying not to push the issue too much because I do have a lot of perks - My gut tells me that somethong is fishy with this.

Re: Maternity Leave Question
I left in December and thats when our reviews our with our raises. They postponed mine until I got back so my raise didnt take effect until I started back from leave.
