Bizarre Dream & Hypothetical Question
I had a dream last night that we received a call from the hospital. THey told us there was a mistake & that Joseph wasn't ours. In fact, he belonged to one of the moms on the board. What's worse is that the mom decided after having my biological child for 5 years that she wanted to switch them. I said "No, absolutely not." DH was explaining "We have no choice, we have to take our biological child. She is Joseph's mother." The Mom wanted to take Joseph - I was scrambling for passports for Joseph & Maddie to leave the country (and my husband). I know where the dream comes from - my best friend was told by a guy she was dating that her daughter "wasn't really hers" (she's adopted). I know complete idiot and way to score with an adoptive mom
So here it goes...let's say you get the phone call -- you're already in love with your child --- how do you handle it?
And for those that are going to say "He looks just like my husband or me, so I know he's mine." This is HYPOTHETICAL.

ok im not a mom but this question totally intrigued me, i once saw a lifetime movie based on this..
if it was me, i would see about raising both children in a joint custody kind of way between 2 families.. i can understand wanting to havbe ur biological child but yet u raised the other child as tho ur own, id imagine wanting to raise both. and share custody with the other family. i dont think its fair to rip either child from the home that it has known on a permenant basis

Re: Bizarre Dream & Hypothetical Question
I saw a lifetime movie about this! Crazy!!!!!!!!! I would want to keep the child that I raised...and maybe work out an "open" relationship with the other family so I could watch my child grow up as well. But just not as his/her "mother"

Re: Bizarre Dream & Hypothetical Question
Oddly enough, I'm still angry with my husband for being willing to give up Joseph.

Re: Bizarre Dream & Hypothetical Question
A long time ago, we saw a show where the guy found out his 2 year old wasn't his -- and left the mom & the kid. Absolutely absurd how you can just turn love off like that.
