GMAIL USERS....

Can you "stash away" emails in folders like Outlook allows you to? I apply "labels" to emails so I can categorize them, but theyre still in my inbox and I want my inbox clean and clear.
Once I clicked "archive" and God knows where they went I thought I was pretty saavy with this stuff

Then my next question, although I LOVE how they stack all email threads into one "email", MANY TIMEs I dont even realize there are a few replies (from different people) within that email thread (I guess if they come all at a close time range of eachother?) unless I open the thread up and see others replies...

anyone else have these issues or other issues.? or suggestions for me ?

archive puts them in the folders (labels) that you have set up....to see the messages,,,just click on the label name on the left hand side and all the messages, for that label will appear...

But when I apply the labels, it keeps them in my inbox with the label on it
I think I noticed that it finally dumps it in the folder a few days later, I havent done it in a while, so im not positive. but I Remember saying, whats the purpose of just labeling it and leaving it in my inbox

well how long does it take to GO into that folder, its just sitting in my inbox still with the label on the email

check the box next to the message and hit the ARCHIVE button on top of the page...that will move the message from your Inbox to the folder with whatever label name you have assigned it to....

on the left hand side of your screen there is a section called labels....click on that and the list will expand to see all the labels that you created....click on the label that you want to see the messages that you archived.

LABELS in Gmail are like FOLDERS in other email programs....and when you ARCHIVE them, its like moving them into the folders at other email programs...

When I first got gmail I was obsessed with putting things in folders but now I don't even bother. If I'm looking for something I just do a search and it finds it soo easily.

click on the ALL MAIL on the left had side and all your mail will show up. the ones that are archived...click on them then hit the move to inbox button and they will show up in your inbox again...then you can create a label for them then hit archive again!
