do you start trying then? Does that mean you will O soon? TIA.

FYI: I decided to start testing earlier then the box and I already got 2 lines. Maybe that has been my problem. I O early.

I think you should always get two lines, but you are not O'ing until the test line is as dark as reference line.

I seem to have the same problem.... I took the test this month on day 10 and got a line. On day 11 and 12, no line. So now I am going to start checking at day 5 this time.... I think I "O" at or before day 10. My cycle is only 24 days so that would make sense. I have been charting my temps but they make no sense to me...

Re: If the test line is lighter on an OPK...

We always have some LH in our bloodstream. Opks measure LH. It is very very common to get two lines on an OPK throughout your entire cycle, when the testing line is the same or darker than the control line, that represents a surge. You can O at different times. I have O'd cd 10 and I have O'd cd 18. It so very important to use opks and chart your temps if you really want to pinpoint O. It varies. Your luteal phase is what basically stays constant.

Kara if your cycles are 24 days, I would definitely start testing as soon as AF stops.

Kara, ....if you send me your temps, I can help you figure out what's going on?

Redstar, if my cycles are 25 days would you recommend the same for me? Last month I used opk's on days 9, 10, 11, and I believe 12 and gave up after that. We bd'd those days and I got AF yesterday. Maybe I should have started opk testing right after AF ended or kept going after day 12 or perhaps I didn't o this month at all? I know that if I were charting temps I would have been able to figure out the answer to this.Chat Icon

This happened to me also. I don't O until like CD18 - CD22, even when my cycles are short. Like the others said though, it is not considered a surge until the test line is as dark as or darker than the control. GL! Chat Icon

Well, it can't hurt to BD, but if you want to time it perfectly, you should BD on the days that the line is AS DARK AS or DARKER than the control line. In other words, if you BD tonight, chances are it won't be a baby making dance, it'll just be good times. Chat Icon GL! Chat Icon

Re: If the test line is lighter on an OPK...

I am so glad I read this. My cycle has been a little different every month, I mean it is shorter. Last month it was 25 days and this month its 23 days. I am going out today, while I still have AF and getting an OPK, but when do I start? Should I start the first day after AF is over or wait a day or two?
