Thank you note etiquette question

Sorry if this has been asked before.

We had my DD's christening a few weeks ago, and one family that attended didn't give a card or gift. They live with another family member who did and who I'm going to send a thank you card to.

Do I send a thank you card to the family who didn't give a card/gift? We thanked everyone for attending at the party itself.

I would not send a card if there was no gift.

You thank both families for attending but the family that gave the gift for the gift.

Re: Thank you note etiquette question

I would send a thank you and just say thank you for attending. we had a great time or something like that. Perhaps they are not in the position to give a gift at the moment.Chat Icon

I wouldn't send them anything. Why waste money on a thank you card and a stamp.

Re: Thank you note etiquette question

Everyone who attended should get a Thank you. You invited them to the party and they came. Gifts are not mandatory, but of course they are appreciated.

I would thank them for coming and sharing in your child's special day.
