Need help finding a book, please

When I was in 1st grade, my grandmother came up to school for Grandparents' Day, and we read some book about a little girl and her Grandma named Sylvia. My g'ma's name is Dolores, but I've called her Sylvia ever since we read that book together. I'd LOVE to buy it for her, she'd crack up.

The book is a children's book and it had to have been published earlier than 1991.

Anyone know where I can look? The search on Amazon.com isn't the greatest...

I guess i'd need something with a keyword search?

Re: Need help finding a book, please

thanks!!

From what I remember (it was sooo long ago), it was about a little girl playing with her Grandmother (Sylvia.)

I remember seeing illustrations of the 2 on the playground, a slide, etc.

I can't remember the premise of the story though. Chat Icon

Sorry ERod, no funeral.

Go to Barnes and Noble (bn.com), you can do an advanced keyword search and narrow it down by ages. When you get the results, you can sort by publication date to get all the ones before 1991.

Hope this helps!

This book, My Grandma Has Black Hair , has a grandma named Sylvia (the link has a description). Not sure if it is the one you are thinking of though. If it is, it appears to be out of print but can be bought used.

Re: Need help finding a book, please

It doesn't look like I'll have it by Sunday, BUT Sept 20th is her birthday. Perfect, perfect, perfect.

Thank you, again, so much. I'm tearing up over here! It really feels like yesterday that we were reading it together. Chat Icon
