I think so. I had a lot more guy friends before I got together with DH. I still have a few guy friends, but they are all guys I met, either before DH, or while away without DH.

Do you think its intentional, or just a natural progression?

Dh had a hard time with the one guy friend I have, until he announced his engagement. Chat Icon

I think it is hard for two straight people of the opposite sex to have a true friendship. As one of my male colleagues once told me, a guy is never looking to be "friends" with a girl "unless it includes benefits"

Re: Spinoff: Does marriage chase away opposite sex friends?

I think it is just natural. Are we talking single friends of the opposite sex? Because I'm thinking about this, and I think everyone we know is a couple. Only one friend of mine is not involved in any type of relationship.

Re: Spinoff: Does marriage chase away opposite sex friends?

In a way, i think it does. I have always had a lot of close male friends, but since getting married, I have been a lot closer to the females. I also think that a lot of opposite sex relationships tend to have a flirty nature, which fades away once you're married.
