Any local vacation spots for toddler?
I have a week off in a couple of weeks and I was thinking that it might be nice to go for our first overnight mini-vacation. My son is only 16 months old and his hobbies are walking and walking and walking (and not wanting to hold our hands). I know Sesame Place is closed, and feel that Hershey might be too cold. Can anyone think of any other place that might be nice to go to? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Any local vacation spots for toddler?
We just went to Great Wolf Lodge last week. It was great. My kids are 7 and 4, and they had a great time. This place was all families, from young babies, to older kids. The waterpark, which is included in the price, was so much fun for all ages. They also have a room called Cub Club and the have hourly craft projects, some free, some 5 or 7 dollars, my kids loved that. They have an arcade, a restaurant, 3 smaller snack and coffee places. A very cool part of the trip was that every night at 8 and then again at 9 they have a clocktower that puts on an animated show for the kids. The kids come down to it in their pj's and after the show, they have story time in front of the huge fireplace. It was a nice toch. Everybody their was very friendly and it was great overall. oh, and from 11pm-7am it is "hibernation time" where everybody calms down, and relaxes for the day, it was cute. The rooms were nice and big. We went during the week because it was cheaper, and we thought it might be less crowded, the hotel said they were booked to capacity, but it didn't seem packed, there was so much to do that nobody was cramed together, and the waterpark alone is huge. There are other things to do around there as well, it is about 5 minutes from Camelback, where we went snowtubing, it is less then 5 minutes to the outlets, stores and candle factories. I would highly recommend this place to anybody who has children.
eta: it took us about 2 hours to get there, it is in Scotrun PA

Re: Any local vacation spots for toddler?
Wow that place sounds really great for a family getaway!
I was also going to suggest "the land of make believe". I think it's in NJ. My friend took her son there last year and he loved it. I don't know too much about it but maybe you could check it out. Hope you have a great time wherever you go :)
