for those who have already delivered at st charles?
How strict were they with the visiting hours? becuase they seem really limited 2-4 grandparents and 7-8 gen public no baby in room. My sil is at stony brook and visiting hours are sooo leiniet and everyone is able to hold the baby. Its been kinda nice. I hope that St charles isnt tooo bad becuase I want my bil and sil to be able to hold him in the hospital just like Ive been getting to.

Re: for those who have already delivered at st charles?
I've delivered at both Stony Brook and St. Charles and in my opinion, Stony Brook was WAY too lenient!! I had some other visitors during the grandparents visiting hours, and they were fine with that. Other than those thimes, it's pretty hard to get in.
Feel free to FM me if you have any ??'s

I went on the hospital tour last night and they say that they don't really check up on people unless they ask them to shoo people away. The baby can be with you at anytime EXCEPT 7-8PM - normal visiting hours.

Re: for those who have already delivered at st charles?
I just delivered my daughter at St Charles in January and yes they are VERY strict with the visiting hours 2-4 for grandparents and the baby is in the room and 7-8 for all other visitors and the baby is not in the room. I thought the same has you until I delivered and you will really appreciate these hours. You will be so tired and not want people coming in and out at all times you will want the alone time with you and your DH nad your little angel.

Yes, she was. And as another poster said, although it seems strict, you will be thankful for the time alone wiht DH and baby, and to get some rest. I cannot say enough how much I LOVED delivering at St. Charles

Re: for those who have already delivered at st charles?
2-4 is suppose to be grandparents ONLY and the baby can be in your room.
7-8 is everyone else and the baby HAS to go back to the nursery and visitors are allowed in your room w/o the baby there.
I thought it was good cause I didnt want so many people handling him only a few hours old....
