Playing / Developmental activities for babies

Do you try to play / read / stimulate your baby every waking hour? Sometimes I feel bad if I just leave Kevin in his bouncy seat so I can grab lunch or put some laundry in. I don't even know if what I'm attempting to play with him is even the right thing to do for his age (6 weeks).

Do you have to be doing something with your baby every second or is it ok to let them sort of entertain themselves once in a while.

What kind of games do you play with your baby? ANy book recommendations?

I let Jared play in his Baby Einstein gym. I don't think there's anything wrong with letting them entertain themselves while you get something done in the house. It gives you a little rest!

Dont feel guilty I leave Alex in his kick and play for a while and he loves it. Luckily he learned early how to kick and make the lightd work so that helps entertain him. I think it's impossible to be entertaining the baby all day long.

Thats what bouncy chairs are for besides they are entertaining and help develops the senses as well. I often put Bryan in all of his things- he loves his mobile the best and then the fisher price ocean bouncy chair.

I would leave marissa in her seat or her swing for a while so I could get things done around the house I think its good for them to entertain themselves at times
