Lewin farms in Wading River
Yep..that's where we go as well. They have a pumpkin field, apple orchards, a huge fresh fruit/ veggie market, and craft house. We love to go there!

Re: Spinoff to Fall: Apple Picking
We like to go upstate a bit. Just like finding random farms. We make a whole day out of it, apples and pumpkins. Last year we even found one where we could bring our dog. It was great.

Re: Spinoff to Fall: Apple Picking
If we pick...we pick upstate in my area Columbia County In my town - Germantown - Wintje Farms Rt 9G, (She used to be my elementary school Librarian) - Rider Farm 100 Sawmill Rd. - The Pickin Shack @ Hellers Farm Rt 9G & Hover Ave (My rd.!) This site is their Christmas tree & grape farm, but they do have a stand for Apples, pumpkins, squash, gourds, corn, etc. (As cute and quant this is to visit...this is why I don't want to move back home...try being stuck behind his tractor everyday!)
Ghent, NY - Love Apple Farm, 1421 Rt. 9H
Hudson, NY - Smith Farms 200 White Birch Rd. - Fix Brothers 215 White Birch Rd.
Ancram, NY - Tompson-Finch Farm ORGANIC! 750 Wiltsie Bridge Rd.
We go Pumpkin & Apple picking in Red Hook - Dutchess County @ Greig Farm.

Re: Spinoff to Fall: Apple Picking
I'm probably one of the only people who has never gone apple picking. I've been dying to go and am determined to finally go this year. We'll probably go somewhere in CT though.

Re: Spinoff to Fall: Apple Picking
My DH and I LOVE going to Applewood Orchards upstate NY in Warwick. They have apples, pumpkins, and a winery where they make all their own wine and have a wine tasting area....YUM!!!

There's also a really cute town you pass through on the way called sugarloaf. Nice old village with cute shops and stuff.

Re: Spinoff to Fall: Apple Picking
We usually head out east to the north fork. We make our way to Cutchogue and start at Wickham's fruit farm. From there we make our way back and stop off at all the other fruit farms along the way.

The Milk-Pail in Southhampton. The best part is on the way back you can hit the Duck Walk winery. Their website is great- tells you which apples are in season when and the trees are drawfed so you can reach all the apples easily!!
