car seat (in car) question....
I have the car seat behind the passenger seat. Can the seat (legally) be put in the middle of the back seat? For some reason, I thought you weren't supposed to

mine is in the middle I never heard of any law saying you couldn't. The middle is the safest spot, the next safest is behind the driver - less percentage of side impact accidents than the passenger side.

You should look at your car's manual, they tell you where they recommend for your exact car. But most car seats say you should try to put it in the middle if you can.

My hospital roommate is an EMT and when I went to visit her she moved my daughter's car seat from the back passengers side to the middle. She said it's the ABSOLUTE safest place for it.

I thought that was supposed to be the safest place to put the car seat?? I always had mine in the middle.

I didn't know this. Mine is behind the driver's seat. How do you use the LATCH system if its in the middle? Or do you just have to use the seatbelt?

I was still able to use the latch on each side with putting the seat in the middle

I think that if you have th car seat on the side you need to make sure that you do not have side air bags...or if you do have them deactivated?? Middle is the safest i'm told.
