Did anyone's sono tech misread the sex of their baby?

I was at my OB/GYN's office yesterday getting a sonogram and an expectant mother went in before me. I heard her say to the tech... "hey, do you remember me?? You told me last time I was pregnant that I was having a boy, and we had a baby girl" .. My mouth dropped! Has this happened to any of you?

It was hilarious because dh kinda wasen't trilled about having a girl only because he wanted his little girl to have a big brother (he's not that much of a jerk) well he got over being wierd about it pretty fast and then when we got the other sono they even put the doppler on the penis to prove it wasen't cord and all the techs were like " Your husband is pretty wierd, he just sat there and didn't seem happy when we said "it was a boy""
So I go out and met him in the car and he turns to me and it was really cute and asks,
"So it's not going to change again, right?" and I'm like no and what's your deal... his response was that for the past few weeks he was really liking the idea of "Daddy's Little Girl" (It was so cute!)

Re: Did anyone's sono tech misread the sex of their baby?

The sono tech slipped with me and said what are you naming this little boy? I said what? And she said oh you don't know what you are having? I said no so she said or little girl.... BRIANNA was just 6 months today.. SO I dont know what to make of that.. and then another tech said do you know what you are having I said no she said I do.. So I thought I was having a boy the whole time. I did have an amnio too I didn't WANT to know what I was having, so I never asked..
My sister they told that they were 99.9% sure she was having a girl and she had a boy..

Okay may this guy wasn't the most experienced person. Usually with unexperienced techs they use the "if it's missing a penis, it must be a girl" theory. But when there is no penis it could mean it was too early and it hadn't dropped yet. But if he thought it was a boy and it turned out to be a girl, wow I definitely do not want him to be my sono guy!
