High boots & big legs?
Okay, this is emabrraising, but I've tried on counteless pairs of high boots & I can't get my giant calves in them!
Have any of the bigger or more muscular girls found boots that you like?
And if you also can't fit into boots, what do you wear with skirts? Heels & tights don't seem to work for me & stockings seem dorky.

Re: High boots & big legs?
Heather, I fall into that group...big calves and have had probs with some boots. I find ones the just pull up over the calves opposed to the ones that zip up. Those are definitely more comfortable. I just bought a pair at Kohls. I would wear them with jeans and may consider using them w/leggings. I also use 3/4 length boots that arent as high and dont need to go above the calves.
Here is what they look like (in brown):

I have the opposite problem, but while finding boots for me, I stumbled across the ones Ann Taylor sells. They have an extended calf boot. Some are really cute.

Debbie, you'rre so tiny! But big calves can plague anyone
Those are nice. I have 1 pair are that are OK, but they are more like 3/4, and have a little elastic panel on the side. I used to think they looked word with skirts, but I wear them anyway. I'd liek to finder talller oens thgouh.
Ms.Mitcia, I used to work with someone with your problem, and she got them altered--try either a shoe maker or a tailor that works with leather.
Naturalizer had extended calf one a few years ago, but they were so baggy around the ankle.

I have Franco Sarto boots, I bought two actually - they just pull up, no zipper
I think I got them at Macy's or Lord & Taylor

J. Crew sells extended calf sizes. I also find that their regular boots are a little wider than normal ones b/c sometimes I have this problem other times I don't.
I like to blame it on having small feet. I like to think that smaller the shoe size the smaller the opening for the calf!
Interesting theory! I have big feet though, but I guess they are out of proportion with my legs. I usually have to buy wide with shoes ( not always with boots), so you'd think the calf would be wider too, but it's not.
Thanks for the tips ladies!

Re: High boots & big legs?
I have big calves as well and have found that Nina boots work well even for the zip ups... They have hidden elastic... I got these 2 weeks ago and they fit PERFECTLY
