Song Suggestions - HELP!
I made a photo montage for my co-worker's dad who has Stage IV lung cancer. There were a number of pictures that I couldn't include on the DVD. I was going to put the rest on a 4th song but need song suggestions.
The songs we used were: If I Could Build My Whole World Around You - Marvin Gaye Forever Young - Rod Stewart Somewhere Over the Rainbow / What a Wonderful World by Iz Kamakawiwo'ole
I'm looking for any song suggestions. They need to be more upbeat - along the lines of "I've led a really good life." not something sad i.e. (I'm everything I am because you loved me, etc).
Her dad is in his early 60s, so something not too contemporary.
Thanks in Advance!

Re: Song Suggestions - HELP!
How about "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion. That song always reminds me of my late father
I know you are not a Mariah fan, or I would suggest "Hero" - I think she is the one who sings it.
ETA: Everything you do, by Bryan Adams Unforgettable, Nat King Cole You are so beautiful, Joe Cocker Nobody Does it Better, CArly Simon You are the Sunshine of my Life, Stevie Wonder

The Dance-Garth Brooks
Looking back on the memory of The dance we shared 'neath the stars above For a moment all the world was right How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye
And I'm glad I didn't know The way it all would end, the way it all would go Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain But I'd have had to miss the dance
Holding you, I held everything For a moment wasn't I a king But if I'd only known how the king would fall Hey who's to say? you know I might have changed it all
And I'm glad I didn't know The way it all would end the way it all would go Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain But I'd have had to miss the dance
Yes my life, its better left to chance I could have missed the pain But I'd have had to miss the dance

Re: Song Suggestions - HELP!
I read your post this morning and the only suggestions I had were already mentioned.
But as I was driving in my car today, "You'll be in my heart" from the tarzan movie came on and all I could think was how beautiful it would be for you to use

Re: Song Suggestions - HELP!
Thanks everyone for helping out. I'm printing out the lyrics for her. As you can imagine, she's combing through every lyric to eliminate anything about missing out or anything too wedding-like (she's not married and he's obviously not going to be around for her wedding. ). It's particularly hard on her not having anyone to lean on right now.
