Who bought the CVS brand Thermometer? I'm Returning mine
I am so frustrated with this thermometer. I think I have been charting wrong this whole time. I'll explain.......
I just bought the thermometer and wanted to get into the habit of taking my temps until AF arrives or my BFP. I decided to start taking my temps in the middle of my cycle instead of waiting (most of you know that I am 45CD)
So on the first day I started taking my temps, It was 98.5 and then the next 6 days it was 97.7. I found this odd since most of you have very active charts! So.....just now, I tested it out to make sure the last temp showed up on the screen. I took my temp......98.5 I turned it off and then I turned it back on and it read......97.7
Mind you, I did test earlier in the week to make sure and again I turned the thermometer off. So I thought I was doing it right.
I am such an idiot.....I don't think your suppose to turn it off and everyday I've been doing this because I would go back to sleep!!! I am frustrated!!! I could kick myself. WEll, at least now I know! I am glad I didn't wait for my new cycle to begin; otherwise, I would of been really upset!

Re: Who bought the CVS brand Thermometer?
i have it and it shuts off by itself i think. and the temp that shows up when you turn it on is the last temp taken. what i found is that there wasn't a name brand thermometer, but the cvs brand or the walgreens brand. can you return it and try a new one?

Re: Who bought the CVS brand Thermometer?
Well, I threw the box away two days ago. I am just going to leave it on and see what happens til I take the new temperature. I hate that it doesn't light up.

Re: Who bought the CVS brand Thermometer?
I have the SAME issue. And I have the CVS barnd one too... Yesterday I turned it off and I could have SWORN it said 97.90. Well I came to the computer to chart it and turned it on and it said 97.70 and I kinda KNOW that was wrong, but I wasnt 100% sure.
Ju- I think your right, I dont think you are suppossed to turn it off.
OH WAIT, I think I may have the box. I will go look in a few!
ETA_ I timed it yesterday..lol..it took like over 3 minutes to show up! I WISH THEY MADE A FAST ONE!

Re: Who bought the CVS brand Thermometer?
OK- I found the directions..It says nothing! It does say it automatically shuts off to preserve the battery after 3 minutes. I think I will be leaving mine on then.
( p.s I forgot to take my temp this AM )

Re: Who bought the CVS brand Thermometer?
Okay, I found my Box in the trash and I am returning it!!!!!
I tested again a few seconds ago 98.5 and it turned off and when I was about to take my temperature again..... it stated 97.7!! This is obviously defective!!! I am so mad..... time wasted!
They better not put it back on the shelf!!!! So what I did was write on the instructions......"do not use, previously used and it is defective"

Re: Who bought the CVS brand Thermometer? I'm Returning mine
MY experiment.
I took my temp and shut it off...when I turned it back on it had YESTERDAYS temp on it.
I took my temp, let it shut off after 3 minutes on its own..turned it back on and it had TODAYS temp on it ..
So I dont think its defective, I think its just a wacked thermometer..you have to let it shut itself off to record and save your current days temperature...
Hope that helps

Re: Who bought the CVS brand Thermometer? I'm Returning mine
Yep, I tried what you said and it still had yesterdays temperature instead of todays. I went to CVS and returned it. I bought a new one with a light at Eckerds. And it Works! Here goes another week!
