baby bottles
sounds like trial and error when registering for them but the lady at BRU told me playtex drop in were by far the best. I registered for all of them but I am wondering if that was a mistake. Should I go back and change to various kinds or is this brand ok?

Re: baby bottles
We used playtex drop ins from the beginning and have had no problems with them at all. My only complaint is that if you use powdered formula you can't really make an 8 oz bottle because when you add the scoops of formula it actually comes out to be more then 8 oz and would overflow out....otherwise we really like them.
However it is definately trial and error. I'd get a few playtex, a few dr browns, a few advent and then see what your baby likes the best.

we tried the nursers, vent-aires, and finally Dr Brown's because she was really gassy.

Re: baby bottles
I would agree about Dr Browns, however, looking back on it, since we have had no gas issues, I kind of with I would have gone with Avent as they are easier to clean! But Dr Browns are fantastic really!!!

Re: baby bottles
The funny thing is that we tried Dr. Browns also and she would spit up horribly after having them, yet never spit up bad from the nursers.
Bottom line every baby is different and I really do think that it is trial and error.

We started out with the Playtex Dropins, but eventually went to the Dr. Brown's.
Definitely trial & error b/c we tried them all (Avent, Playtex, etc) and found that the Dr. Browns w/the standard-fast (level 3) nipple worked best. (Never had an issue w/spitting up, but DD used to get a little gassy.)

Re: baby bottles
Ava does really well with the drop-ins. I love that you don't have to wash the bottle. They are probably the best in terms of having a new baby because there's minimal washing involved.

OOOOHHH...good to hear! I didnt even think of that aspect. Being that I do not have a dishwasher the idea of throwing them away and having clean bottles sounds even better!

Same here. I started with the Drop-ins(which I really wanted to love) and they leaked my BM . Switched to Dr. Browns and have been happy ever since.

Re: baby bottles
We tried a bunch of bottle b/c of gas, he seemed so uncomfortable. Ultimately we ended up with the Dr. Brown's, tried the Playtex Nursers, Avent, regular glass bottles (which actually he did the best with up until a certain point).
Dr. Brown's were the last resort b/c they have so many parts to clean! Good luck!!! You'll find what's right for your baby.

Re: baby bottles
I have been using the Dr. Brown's bottles since day 1 also and have had no problems. I will admit though, I HATE cleaning all the parts. We tried the drop ins but I felt I couldn't push all the air out of the bag so it made me nervous. I tried the Avent but I just could not get them to not leak no matter how loosely I put the top on. I tried the Ventaire but the stage 1 nipple was too small and the stage 2 nipple was too big. So, it was back to Dr. Brown's for us. I can't wait until she has no more trouble with gas (which may never be the case) so I can switch to plain old regular bottles -- like the Evenflo ones.
Like others have said, it may be trial and error for you. I think alot of moms go to the Dr. Brown's because they are supposed to be better at reducing gas. You might just want to try a less labor intensive solution first. And remember -- all babies have gas, and you'll never eliminate all of it.
Good luck. HTH.
