i dont really get what the deal is with them. i am trying to figure out if i want one or need one.
i like the top part that looks almost like a little bed for the baby to be in.
any opinions - please!!!!

Re: someone explain the Gecko bugaboo stroller
i think something like this is for people that are on feet all the time - if i lived in the city and didn't have a car, then I'd get one.

Re: someone explain the Gecko bugaboo stroller
We tried on out a the store the other day. It is the cheaper of the bugaboos. It wheels so easily. It also comes with the bassinet, which I like because I want to use it for the first 3 months around the house to take sleeping baby room to room with me.
comes with mosquito net and rain shield.

Re: someone explain the Gecko bugaboo stroller
thanks for the info beth! About 2 years ago I bought a barely used Frog off of Ebay, but my mother said it was bad luck, so I sold it. I just wanted it because I knew it would be a crazy buy to make once the baby was actually on its way.
so now, my mother said she will get it for me.
we are corny as well. My maiden named started with an "O" and my married name starts with an "O" so we have like the oakley O on everything. We love that O's are on the bugaboo.
ETA: I feel like if I have 2 kids, this will be with me for about 5 years. Its more of an infatuation with it at this point.

Re: someone explain the Gecko bugaboo stroller
I have the Frog- and DD hated the basinet part of it. She stays in the car seat. Now i think she is ready for the main seat.

Re: someone explain the Gecko bugaboo stroller
Like Beth, I got the BumbleRide, but I got the flyer. It doesn't have the pram attachment, but the back fully reclines and the foot rest comes all the way up. And, you can put a boot cover on it, so essentially it looks and acts like a pram without all the extra weight.
Also, like Beth, I wanted the Bugaboo, but DH wouldn't go for the price and my mom bought the stroller, I would never have asked her to spend that much money.

They are very nice (if you mean the BumbleRide) but I am biased since I got one, LOL.
I saw them all in person and they are beautiful and made soooo much better than many of the other brands. If you do decide to go this route, I would suggest seeing it in person first.
I was all set to get the Queen B, but when I saw it, it was waaaayyyy too heavy and bulky for me. If I didn't live in a second story apartment or had a car, I definately would have gotten it. But since I have to schlep it up the stairs every day and take the bus, I opted for the much lighter Flyer.
Good luck! I know it seems so overwhelming.

Please don't think I begged for it! I am not having a shower, and I offered to split the cost with my mom. She said no, that she wants to do it. Because she is doing it solo, that is why I am going Gecko and not Frog($ its cheaper)

OMG, I just looked at what I wrote and what you wrote...I didn't even realize you got it, so please don't take me the wrong way when I said that I wouldn't have asked her to spend that much. I know you NEVER would have expected soemone to spend that much on you. Please don't think my comment was in reference to you...it wasn't in reference to anybody. I just know that if I told her how much it is she would have which is why I wouldn't even ask, LOL.

I think it is also since I moved away, my mother thinks I am going to be a lonesome dove and wants to get me excited about all the changes.

Re: someone explain the Gecko bugaboo stroller
I have a Bugaboo Frog and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE It.
Its so light and easy to put in the car, the suspension is fantastic, it looks fantastic, the baby loves it. It goes up and down curbs brilliantly. The carrycot bit was great for travelling, when I came to the states with it, Noah slept in it when we went out.
One thing that is wonderful about the Bugaboos is the front facing seat. Its great for speech development because the baby faces you and you are talking all the time. The other day a lady stopped me in the supermarket to tell me that she thought I was talking to myself because I was talking to Noah so much...bless. He really hangs on every word I am saying....
Its worth the money, lots of my friends have the pliko pramette and wish that they had bought a Frog...I would recommend it highly. Also, Bugaboo have great after care service, I busted an inner tube and they sent me one in the post for free right away.

Re: someone explain the Gecko bugaboo stroller
Right, I just wanted to post again to tell you that lots of people that I know don't rate the Gecko or the Cameleon very highly, the fabric is not nearly as nice and the fleece seems to look old and crappy rather quickly. I would try to get my hands on a Frog if I were you. I know you can get them because a friend got one in NYC very recently.
If you have any questions, FM me and I will try to help you. I know there is a pramaholics site on MSN, I will try to find that and get some feedback for you.

Yeah ,the cameleon has the fleece, but the gecko is fabric. The big visual difference is that the frog and cameleon both have the black bars across where child sits, but the gecko doesn't. I assume that would make lifitng the carrycot easier. and a place where baby can hold on to.

Rach, are you saying you love the Bugaboo Frog
I am more like saying that I adore the Bugaboo...
It had a flat tire for a few days last month and I was beside myself. Just beside myself. It stopped me from getting out of the house and drinking coffee with my mommy friends!!!

Re: someone explain the Gecko bugaboo stroller
Ooooooooh also wanted to say that I use it with my car seat a lot and thats just fantastic. It looks HOT!!! And its easy to hoist a sleeping baby out of the car still in the car seat.
Now I can't wait to go out tomorrow so I can use it again!!! Like I use it everyday!!!
