What am I doing Wrong? Re: Sleep
OK Miranda went down last night at 7pm no fuss whatsoever. She basically goes down awake every night and falls asleep on her own no problems so now I am working on moving the bedtime up. I thought great she went to sleep at 7pm maybe she'll sleep well. WRONG. She started out with the crying in her sleep. I tried to let her be but it didn't stop. Gave her the pacifier and right back to dreamland she goes. Then around 2am she starts fussing with her eyes open, give her the pacifier and eventually she goes back to sleep. We do this every night starting anywhere between 1am and 3am. Then at 5am I will get up and feed her. She's drinking about 25-27oz a day combined formula and BM which is appropriate for her weight. Her last bottle was within 30 min of going to bed. We have tried starting cereal and she won't take it. I truly believe she isn't ready. She does not exhibit any of the signs of being ready but I tried anyway at the GI suggestions. My next step is to break the pacifier habit but her 2-3am wakings are really pacifier related like the earlier ones. I guess she could be hungry but she was sleeping through the night about a month or so ago. Any suggestions on what else to try? This is wearing me out not getting a good stretch of sleep.

Jen - I don't beleive that her sleep problems are related to food at all. I had the same situation with Talia - and so I stopped using the paci - cold turkey - she doesn't even miss it - and she doesn't wake looking for it either - I think it's worth a shot!

I'm going to give it a try.
