It's our FIRST Halloween in our new HOME!!  I CAN'T WAIT!! I bought a wreath this week to let the kids know that my house is "festive"...
I hate the holiday, but the kids are so cute and since I'm the corner house in a cul de sac I expect some traffic.
Doing damage this weekend at Target...
my advice - don't buy too much
unless you don't mind getting stuck with candy (I do!) lol
my first year here I went NUTS and bought a TON! I think 10 kids came 
Well, we live in a community with no outside traffic (for the most part) so I think we may get some foot kiddie traffic (it's very safe in our 'hood). But I plan on opening bags as needed so that I could return any unopened bags!

good thinking! me being a dork, I opened them all and dumped them into a huge bowl  I think my Dad gained 5 pounds that year from my leftovers

2 big bags from Target, one has Life Savers candies (gummy ones as well as regular) and the other has Twizzler Pull and Peels, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Jolly Ranchers, etc.
ETS: I bought a ton of candy the first year we were in our house and made up bags for all the kids and I had 2, yes 2, trick or treaters.
I refuse to be stuck with all that candy again. Especially because it's a school night, I don't expect a lot of kids.

Halloween is really big in our neighborhood, and I was so surprised at how many we had last year. So, I bought:
2 bags with 100 pieces - Laffy Taffy, Crunch, Butterfingers and Baby Ruths.
2 bags with 50 pieces - M&M's selection
100 mini bags of pretzels.

really? why's that?
I've never been much into Halloween, so I guess it doesn't bother me all that much. Besides, I hate opening the door when DH isn't home and he would for sure not be home when the trick or treaters are out.
I also had a bad experience once, I was home alone at my parents house on Halloween, and someone tried to break in, even though it was obvious there was someone home.

I got Utz pretzels to give out and DH made me go to Target lastnight to get chocolate. He said "Damn you're the lady whose house no one wants to go to"................. I guess it's the dental hygienist in me  We now have Milky Ways, Reeses and snickers.......

I bought a bag of just Twix and then a mixed bag of Baby Rooth, Butterfinger and Crunch. I finished the last of the Twix last night.

I got the pretzels last year or the year before, I forget. All the kids would say "awww, no not more pretzels"
This year I bought a box of 100 blowpops. I'm going to take out the good flavors (for me!) and leave the box on the stoop since we won't be home.

I HATE Halloween; always did and always will. I, especially, hate being forced to participate in something I absolutely detest. However, I buy the cheapest, biggest bag of candy I can find. I do this, because if you don't give them something, who knows what they will do to your house. I wish it would rain, heavily.

I know where my kids will NOT be trick-or-treating!!
We just bought those Halloween Utz pretzels. I go out trick-or-treating with my kids and miss all the trick-or-treaters at my house.
This year I'm just putting the bowl on my stoop.
