ANOTHER crazy boss vent (a THIRD one now!)

actually, two mini vents!

argh. i cant take this woman.


Vent #1:
This woman Deborah that works with us gets alllll of this special treatment. Her and Rose (boss) are buddy-buddy. They are teh same age and get along like friends.
Anyway, this woman is always complaining about money and stuff. (even though she splurges like crazy and gives her son a million dollers everytime he asks)
Anyway, so she gets me mad becuase Rose lets her get away with SOOOOO much. She lets her sell her really super ugly jewelry in our store and pays her for it. She lets her hang up her "artwork" and tries to sell it. Rose even BOUGHT one from her for $700 to help her out!!!
BUT... this is the topper. And why i am so mad. Rose knows that Deborah is a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE employee is. If she werent friends with her her azz would have been gone long ago.....
So.... i just found out that Rose takes only HALF of her taxes out.... therefore she gets more money every week! I am SOOOOOOOOO ****** because she LIES about it and says that she takes all of it out. But i know because Rose am,de me go in her checkbook!!!!!!!!!
That is just wrong in my opinion. I am soooo much better and my boss KNOWS it. it bothers me that Deborah has Rose wrapped around her finger.
I dont get why she gets such special treatment?!
Rose even lets Deborahs SON work for us soemtimes as a "handy man" even though he ruins everything! She feels the need to support them or something! Plus she is always giving her stuff for free. She got a shirt the toehr day and Rose said she could just have it.. while the other girl that works with us had to PAY for it.
Its just not right.

Vent #2:
This one isnt such a big deal, its the PRINCIPLE of it though.
Rose needed a logo for teh store. Of course she asks DEborah to make it and she'll pay her.
I kinda had it with all this and i took her aside and said "Rose, you know i'm creative too, i draw, i paint"
she said she forgot i was an artist. i said "ok, well if deborah doesnt want to do it, i will"
So..... Deborah makes this UGL UGLY UGLY logo (she cant draw) and then says she doesnt want to do it, she says i can.. but she wants me to fix up HER drawing. i said Ok, but im going to do MY ideas too.
So, her sketch took her about 30 seconds to draw, right?
well i went home and spent HOURS and HOURS making this ******** logo. it was NOTHING like Deborahs and Rose loved it and thats what we were using.
So, Rose says " I guess i will pay for you girls to get into the show Tuesday night to pay for the logo"
Um...... first of all we are goingt o this show because YOU are making us! Its $10 to get in. She should pay anyway since we are doing her a favor. But ***?!?!!? Why would she pay DEborah to get in? I did all the work!!!
So... guess waht..... that day came. She paid for DEBORAH to get in and NOT me!!!!!!!!!
I still havent seen any money.

Sorry you're going through this. I have a ton of politics going around my office recently and it does get to a point where you just want to scream or knock some common sense into someone.

It's especially hard when the boss is friends with someone because they dont see the faults. I have a guy we have nicknamed "mouth" because he runs to the boss on everything. he sent an email out to everyone reminding them to check emails that came into support and he CC'd the boss and the COO. WHY??!!! No reason for that nonsense.

I totally understand the fustrations. Unfortunatly their isnt anything you can really do but just bite your lip and roll with the punches.

i just went to work for a second and Deborah said Rose DIDNT pay for her to get into the concert.. but i dont believe her one bit. They are liars.

What is even harder is you cant even play the games. I tried to do to "mouth" what he does to all of us and it turned out to be more annoying then anything else.

My theory is you play with fire you are going to get burned.

Just smile and what goes around does come around. it may not happen now or anytime soon, but things do catch up to someone. You cant get them in trouble, they get themselves in trouble.

one girl called in sick today.....
so Rose wasnt sure if shed be coming in tomorrow and i said i can work a few hours in hte morning before i bring HER sick friend food...... because i have so much stuff to do tomorrow.
she was all "ok, nevermind, its fine. Deborah can come in early"
i mean, im doing her a BIG favor! i am bringing HER friend food! have you ever heard of such a thing?!

WEllll........ she then left me a message an hour ago saying she wants me to clsoe teh store!!!!!!
i said "sorry, i told you i can do a couple hours in the mornign, but i cant close"
she was like "well if you leave by 1pm its pointless"

Ummmmm ITS MY DAY OFF!

i asked "Why? is tehre a problem? deborah cant work a whole shift?"
and she said she didnt want her to work so much.

but I should have tpo work 6 days a week?!??!?!

i have really had it with her.

tomorrow when i go to pick up her friends food if she gives me crap ill just say "sorry, but this is the FIRST time i have ever said i cant help you out"

I would do the same. I am such a Sucker too.

When you are good person people tend to take advantage of you and they know you will do everything and not complain.

It's hard to change who you are.

she was a TOTAL bytch to me today when i came on MY DAY OFF....

saying how i should always help her out.

ummm was i NOT there?!?!?!?!?! i told her off. it felt good. i felt bad being nasty to her, but she needed to hear it.

Good for you for standing up to her. You have a lot more guts then I do. If I did that to "mouth" I would feel like reprucussions would follow and that he would go run to other people and then I would be labled the trouble maker.

Why dont you copyright your logo, tell her she has to pay you to use it or she can't use it, and QUIT.

Life is too short. It's only a job, if you are that unhappy you should find something else. Why let yourself be so unhappy all the time?

I think its totally unfair what she is doing but she isnt going to change.

Im glad you stuck up for yourself! I love how bosses take advantage of the "Good workers" all the time! UUUGH...I am a sucker too! I have such a guilty conscious..Not even funny!
