Major League Ballpark Road Trips
Has anyone ever planned their own Ballpark road trip? DH and I have always wanted to do this, and we are going to try for sometime next summer. We are thinking of hitting Cleveland, Chicago, Milwaukee, Cinncinatti, etc...a lot of driving, spread out over a week and a half or two weeks. Our other option is to fly to the West coast and drive from Seattle down, hitting all all the parks in CA. It is also going to depend on the baseball schedule, of course. If possible, we'd love to see the Mets for at least one of the games.
If you have ever done a trip like this, please let me know where you went and how long it took. Thanks!

Re: Major League Ballpark Road Trips
DH's boss does this for 1 - 2 weeks every year with his kids. I think it is so cool! They go to a few different cities within driving distance to each other and go to games/visit the parks.

Re: Major League Ballpark Road Trips
My brother did this with his college friends right after they graduated. I am pretty sure they drove all the way to the west coast and then down thru the southwest and he flew home from texas. It took him about a month and they hit a TON of stadiums.... I dont know exactly which ones, but they had a really good time. He took a lot of pictures but to be honest, all the stadiums and games looked the same to me!

Re: Major League Ballpark Road Trips
My DH and his friends did this for a good 10 years straight. The last time they did it was 3 years ago. Most of the time they left from NY and have gone as far as wilwaukee (sp?) and have also flown to florida and then did a number of ballparks from there.
Fm me if you have any questions that i can ask him for you!

Jackie I haven't done it all in one, but I used to work for MLB & we had a pass to get into all the stadiums & also connections for tixs so my friends & I got to: Wrigley Field in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Boston, Tampa Bay, SD Padres, Texas Rangers & Detroit Tigers.
It was so great!!!!!!!!

Sports Travel and Tours offers some trips. For DH's 30th I am taking him next year to Yankees Spring Training through them.

Re: Major League Ballpark Road Trips
If you have 1-2 weeks you can go to mets/yanks, philly, pittsburgh, cleveland, cincinatti, baltimore and d.c fairly quickly depending on the schedule. if you drive that exact route you will never drive more than 4 hrs a day except cincy to baltimore.

Re: Major League Ballpark Road Trips
My husband has done this.. he followed Marc McGuire for 3 games until he hit his big one. We were not married at the time. He has seen every major league baseball park but one in MN. He is going to that next year. If you have questions I can ask him.
