I notice that sometimes mine do also. It happens after I warm them up and shake them, they leak a bit through the cap. Only happens once in a while and I don't know why.

Loosen the tops when you heat them up...that's the secret! If you heat them up with the top screwed on tightly, they leak like mad!

Re: Why are my Dr. Brown bottles leaking?
My SIL used dr. browns because her daughter has acid reflux and she warned me that they leaked really bad. I only used them a few times but they did leak a little when I used them. I think if you put that stem part down really tight on the rubber piece they leak less.

Re: Why are my Dr. Brown bottles leaking?
When I heat the bottles I don't heat them with the nipple on or the reservoir in. That has pretty much eliminated any leaking. I also noticed that shaking them can cause leaking.

Mine don't leak at all. I bought the white storage caps by Dr Browns and I shake her bottles with that, then I put in the pieces and the nipple.

I'm not a mom, but I watched my goddaughter during the summer and my cousin said to make sure you heat and shake with only the storage cap on. If you shake after the tube piece is in, liquid will get trapped by the cap and will leak.

Re: Why are my Dr. Brown bottles leaking?
im using them with breastmilk, which you can't put in the microwave, so I always just heat the bottles in hot water in a cup in the sink. I've never had one leak - 2 kids so far and tons of bottles. So, I would think it has to do with the heating and or shaking. I would heat it without the insert in and then add it and the nipple after it's warm. They really are great bottles, neither one of my daughters has ever had so much as a gas pain! (knock on wood)
