How soon should I start to wash baby clothes and stuff?

Just wondering...because I'm starting to separate everything...bibs, onesies, etc. Some have to be washed in cold water and some in warm. Basically everything is ready to be washed, but I don't want to do it too soon.

I'm due 11/11.

Thanks!

I would start now, but don't wash everything and take the tags off because you may want to return some things later on. I washed everything and wished I hadn't. Start with some basics, pjs, bibs, onesies and clothes. Also, depending on how big the baby is he/she might outgrow the newborn size very quickly or might not fit into it at all.

also, I would not wash clothing in warm.....that's what will make it shrink. I wash all our stuff in cold ALL the time.

I agree.... I made the mistake of washing a bunch of newborn stuff and my son was too big for them. Wash enough onsies, bibs, sleepers, recieving blankets for 7-10 days.

I wash all Nate's clothes in warm water (even if they say cold) and nothing has shrunk.
