Teachers? Are you dressing up for Halloween???
This is my first year with the really little guys and I never dress up and don't know what to do for a costume and I DON'T have money to spend on one either.

What about buying a cheap pair of scrubs and going as a Dr?
They are comfy at least!
ETA: I can even lend you a pair of mine if you want. I have a few different sizes.

Re: Teachers? Are you dressing up for Halloween???
My High school, yes high school makes a big deal of it. Of course, some kids take it too far and dress up inappropriately.
I won't be because I alwys have to run errands etc. after school.

Re: Teachers? Are you dressing up for Halloween???
Ok, I HAVE to dress up this year, I've gotten away with not dressing up the last two years, and I need to this year because I always feel bad that I don't. I want to be something music related because I'm the music teacher. Anyone want to help me figure out what I can be?!

I dressed up as Juliet my first year teaching - but my school welcomed the thought of teachers in costumes. The school I'm at now sort of frowns upon it, so I haven't dressed up Makes me sad becuase I love to dress up for Halloween!!

Re: Teachers? Are you dressing up for Halloween???
Last year all of the teachers at my school ordered these orange t-shirts that said "You can't scare me I work at the school" It was so easy. I hope we do it again. I used to work in a special ed preschool and each classroom would have a theme and there was a contest for the class with the best costumes. We won the year we dressed up as "edible reinforcers." I was a goldfish cracker, there was an m&m, a skittle, and a candy corn. The costumes were really easy. We all used posterboard and cut out 2 of the shapes and then tied them together with string to make a front and a back.

I haven't in several years, my school discourages it. But the last time I did, I bought one of those big orange trash bags that looks like a pumpkin. I wore green leggings and a green turtleneck, then I cut arm and leg holes in the bag, tied a drawstring at the neck and stuffed it with some crumpled newspapers. It was cheap too.

I have an old Cinderella costume I could wear, or go as a black cat(doit every year).

Re: Teachers? Are you dressing up for Halloween???
I love to do that but my school discourages it. In the middle school, when I was there, they were ok with it as long as it was a literary or historical figure. I think you should recreate a character from a book...like the old lady who swallowed a fly...wig, dress and a bag full of stuffed animals for the creatures she ate (put in the belly area of the dress). Viola!
