After growing up on SI where the highway system stinks, I now really appreciate living near a bunch of highways - it makes getting everywhere so much faster.
I like living within an hour of Manhattan
I also need to live near good restaurants and shopping.

i live right near the East River
i live 4 minutes away fomr the East Village/Manhattan by subway.
eta: i LOVE it here so much. i dont ever want to move! unless we have kids then who knows.

Nothing really.
I've lived in a rural place with nothing around at all. I've lived near the city with a lot of hustle and bustle.
I can pretty much live anywhere as long as I have DH.

-Highways -Stores that carry the necessities (groceries, etc.) -Good restaurants, including fast food places for the occasional jones. -Starbucks or similar
