do I dare ask wedding advice on here????
ok so here is my entire situation: i was married in 1998 and lets just say BIG mistake ..we went to a Justice of the peace and had basically a house party , which i might add NONE of my family attended because they hated my ex because he was majorly abusive. So last year I get engaged and my family is thrilled love my new FH etc..... we start to plan our wedding and postpone because of the baby we r expecting plus decide to have the wedding upstate where im from because its so much more affordable...well now we are still nervous how we r going to swing everything so after talking to my dad today ...he tells me he will either 1. pay for the entire wedding at the hall i picked but i would have to cut the guest list or 2. get married in the summer and have the reception at his house (which is huge and love it) ..and keep my list the same , I am very greatful for his offers but just confused! He allready paid for my dress and now he is offering this! I just want to get passed all this crap and be married!!! opinions ??? thanks!!

I'd take his offer to have the wedding at the hall you chose, but to keep the guest list smaller.

I would do it at his house and keep the list as is. To me it would be more important to include everyone I want than to have it in the hall.
The guest list is one of the things that I think causes the most stress in the wedding planning, IMO.

sounds like a good situation either way. 1. you would get your hall wedding, it would just be more intimate. 2. sounds like a blast!!! Personally I love any wedding that is a little off from a hall, the hall is so predictable.
Good luck!

I think the most fun I ever had at a wedding was at a backyard wedding!

Re: do I dare ask wedding advice on here????
i was thinking and my huge Italian family alone will take up 90% of the invites at the hall...plus i know my family and they r loud and crazy and fun and i kind of think not being at a hall they would be all the more fun...im not a materialistic person , so i think i may lean towards the house..thanks for letting me vent! sorry to post wedding crap here just like it over here better!!! thanks agian

have to agree.... although MY weddingis the one i had the most fun
But my best friend had hers in her moms backyard and it ROCKED...
IMO the people make the wedding mostly, not the place

I spent the weekend in Buffalo last August. I know I am going to spell it wrong, but I LOVED Chipiwa St?
Such a great time and everyone was so nice!!
We went to a great restaurant on Elmwood. I thought it was a great city(in the summer, winter would not be for me)

I agree, this way you can be surrounded by your family, friends, and loved ones.
