Baby Monitor Question
Can you ladies tell me what monitor you use? My sister swears by the Angel Cares monitor that also detects movement of baby every 20 seconds. What do you suggest? TIA!!!

angelcare doesn't detect movements every 20 seconds.. it sounds off an alarm if there is no movements (baby not breathing) for 20 seconds

Re: Baby Monitor Question
I bought the MOBi video monitor when DD was born..it was terrible ....I couldnt get any internet connection when it was on...so I returned it and bought the summer handheld video monitor two weeks ago and Love it...
So far no problems at all.
I thought about just using the reg sound monitor but now am so glad I have the video as I keep it next to our bed and when DD wakes up I can see if she is up agains the rails of the crib etc so I know if I need to race into her room or if I can let her cry for a minute...usually I race in there anyone as I am such a sap
IMO its worth the money for peace of mind. Oh and you can use it to critique your husband when he goes up to settle your baby...." I saw you on the monitor, you werent rubbing her back the right way" etc.

Re: Baby Monitor Question
Yes, video and sound. and the cool thing is you can turn the sound off at nght and if she cries the lights will flash red so you know there is noise in the room.

Re: Baby Monitor Question
Do a post with the title Angel Care monitor and more mom's with this monitor will give their reviews. This way you don't have to take my word for it.

This is the one I have and I LOVE it. As a mother of a SIDS baby I couldn't live without it! I get such peace of mind when I look over in the middle of the night and see the light blinking. It also has great sound without interference(sp?).

Re: Baby Monitor Question
I have the Angelcare sensor monitor too, I actually only use the monitor, I never used the sensor part of it yet! My son's door is 2 feet from ours so we just keep the doors open.
I would get no sleep if I had the video monitor, just because I'd be looking at it all the time. But I can see it being helpful so you don't have to get out of bed if you want to take a peek.

Ditto on that. We never got the video one. I know a lot of people like them but we figured that we could do without it and it has been just fine.

Re: Baby Monitor Question
I have the AngelCare sensor monitor but have yet to use the sensor pad either. I don't know why, seeing as that is the main reason I wanted that monitor. I guess it is because she was right next to me for the first two months and now that she is in her own room I guess I have calmed down a bit. In any case, using just the sound portion of the monitor, I hate it! I find the sound to be very "tinny" and there is alot of interference. Also, there is no "voice activated" feature, so I hear every noise she makes. Sometimes it really keeps me up for a long time. I have a different monitor that I want to hook up, but I just keep hoping I will become happier with this one and can return the other. Also, when I put brand new batteries into the handheld part of the Angelcare, they only lasted about 2 days. Now I just leave it plugged in.
