What do you do to settle baby down for a nap?
At night we have the bath, read a book routine but we don't have anything for nap time. She goes straight from playing to rubbing her eyes so I feed her and she falls asleep (fighting all the way). I feel like at 7 months I should have some sort of nap schedule/routine for her. Thoughts?

No real routine....I watch for the sleepy cues and then lay him on my chest until he falls asleep. He pretty much knows what that means now, so when it's not nap time he refuses to be in that position. (He's 8 months)

I don't have a nap routine w/ Julia, she lets me know when shes getting tired cause she gets cranky and rubs her eyes alot, and doesnt want to play with any of her toys, so I just lay her on the couch next to me and she usually just passes out. Even at bed time she just hangs out with us till she gets really tired, and then I put her to sleep.( Julia is 7mths too)

I know that after Jared wakes up...in 3 hours he's going to be sleepy again. I just drop him in his crib and after a few minutes he falls asleep.

Wow...you guys make it sound so easy . Sidney fights the nap until the very end. Perfect example....she started laying down in her pack and play at about 9 this am. So I took her into her room while she was rubbing her eyes. Needless to say...here she is in her exersaucer whining a bit cause she never napped. (its 10:40). It seems the only way she will fall asleep is if she is at the very breaking point of crankiness.

What I've been doing is looking for sleepy clues...rubbing eyes, pulling bib over his face and then I'll bring Kevin into his room and stat saying things like...
"Now let's close the shades because its nap time"
"Let's take off your bib for your nap"
Then I'll lay him down, rub his tummy and say "Have a nice nap".
Since we just started putting him in his crib for naps he's been taking a lot long to settle down but eventually he falls to sleep.

I give her her bottle and put her in her infant car seat...she's out cold in 5 minutes. She naps about 3x's a day still...
