Lost marriage license???
We have lost our marriage license in our move to long island---does anyone know how to go about getting another copy from new york state

We actually discovered that we lost it the night of our rehersal dinner -- and that's when you are supposed to have the witnesses sign it. The priest almost wouldn't do the marriage license.
We went to the town we got it from the next day in person and they issued it on the spot. Call the town you are living in now and see if they can do the same for you. They should have all NYS marriage licenses on file.

I lost mine a couple of years ago, I went back to city hall where I originally got it. They gave me a new one no problem. I just had to pay a small fee.
