can be bad for TTC. Why? I just started the South Beach diet with my dh and am now wondering if I should continue?

I don't think it's bad. my best friend had problems & had to lose weight and her RE put her on SouthBeach. She conceived.

Hi LIPrincess - I think you are referring to my post. I read it in a magazine so who knows how reliable it is but they did cite a Doctor.
Basically the article said that a low carb diet plan can reduce your chances of a healthy pregnancy. High protein diets lead to the production of higher levels of ammonuium to break it down which can damage an embryo before implantation. The study the magazine referred to said that mice fed a high protein/low carb diet were less likely to conceive and more likely to have miscarriages. Also, restricted diets reduce your ability to get the necessary vitamins.
Who knows....

One of the best diets to be on when ttc, is the ph balance diet. Tons of organic fruits and veggies....limited animal protein, dairy and white carbs. All food groups are essential, ...but try to get as much as you can 'organic". Cm will be very sperm friendly and more alkalized with this diet.
