Question for those who have recently been to Disney:
Has anyone used the photopass thing? It sounds great, but I want to hear people's experiences. How much does it cost to order the pictures if you want any of them once you get home and view them?

Re: Question for those who have recently been to Disney:
I thought photopass was only for annual passholders??? I know I got a card in my Annual Passholder Newsletter, so I thought it was an AP perk (maybe just the disocunt is an AP perk?) I think it's slightly discounted from the in park prces (which are like $16 for a 5/7 and 4 wallets). You can view them for 30 days after. i think this is great because the lines are so long to look at photos and then you may not even like them and you're pressured to make a decision. With photopass you can decide at home, see how YOUR pics came out and then figure out if it's worth it.
Apparently it'd not an AP only benefit. Anyone can use it. you get a card and instead of giving you the little tickets after they take your photo they somehow swipe or scan the card and that saves the pics to your account, then you go home alter and view them at Disneyphotopass.go.com

Re: Question for those who have recently been to Disney:
I was trying to get price info but I didn't get anywhere past 12.95 for a 5x7. I did read a tip where you should check the photos while you are still there to make sure you like them, at least for any true must have pictures.
DH & I are going in Sept for a week and I plan to really take advantage of it. I am going to love having pictures of the two of us all over WDW!!

I'll do photopass, but I am also going to ask fellow tourists to take our picture...much cheaper that way!

The Disney photo people will ALWAYS take a photo on your camera in addition to theirs. If they don't, move on the the next guy. We always have them take one with their camera and one with ours. They always do this!

Re: Question for those who have recently been to Disney:
the photopass thing is cool, but if you plan on using it for photos to put in your albums alongside your personal photos you may not like it. i say this b/c they do not offer 4x6 prints. they have 5x7 ($12.95), 8x10 and wallets. it was great to get some shots of my whole family while we were there, but i didn't want to spend $12.95 on a bunch of pics that i'd have to display or keep seperate from the rest. so i ended up buying only one. also, i don't think all the photographers are really professional, so make sure the shot is set up nice and that you can see everyone etc, b/c in our one shot in front of the castle the photog didn't bother to tell us that i was blocking most of my dad's face!

Re: Question for those who have recently been to Disney:
I agree, only get them if you're going to use them for display purposes. They do have wallets though. We brought ours home and had my photo guy make more copies, but it was expensive since there was no neg. We're going to get one in front of the "landmark" in each park" So far we have AK and MK, and we have a RNRR pic, and a special one we took in front of the castle as an engagement announcement pic. But I think your BEST bet is to have them take the photo on your camera too, wait until you get home and then compare. I have to say that their prints are VERY high quality!

We used photopass, and ordered a few pics when we got home. It's a great idea!
We had one taken at each park, so we picked the best ones when we got home.
They give this to everyone, not just annual passholders.
