flat head

I am so upset sara has developed a flat head. I thought that being in her swing was ok but it isnt. Her ped. said to keep her on her belly whenever she is awake . I hope it fixes itself.Has anyone else had this.

Re: flat head

My son despised tummy time and I rarely did it because he was colic and wasn't into hearing him cry more than I had to. His head was a little misshapen when he was younger. I would say around 5/6 months it started to even out some and is totally fine now. By then he rolled over on his own and leanred to like his belly.

My advise, do as much tummy time as you can, limit time in bouncers/swings/car seats, rotate the position he sleeps in and even you change him in - esp if one side is more flat than the other.

I feel your pain, my little boy is 15 weeks and his head is very flat on one side. I am going to a pediatrician this week to talk about it, however I am confident that it will round out.
You have until 14 months, thats when the skull starts to harden. I am trying to lodge something under his head when he sleeps and move him around, but I hear that the Noggin Nest is good for that also...so I am going to pick one of these up.

I wouldn't worry too much, I am sure it will sort itself out over time.
