Going Away With the Kids

we leave for Disney on Monday. My kids are 5 and 2 and have never been on a plane. Any suggesstions? Esp now with the new rules I have no idea what to bring. Is a portable DVD player allowed?

Also what will I need for them for our stay. We rented a house so hopefully that will make things easier.

TIA

Electronic devices are no allowed, but no liquids are allowed in carry ons. If you need something specific for a baby you can bring formula and bottles, but I am not sure about a 2 year old. They are also making you take your shoes off again I heard and I would keep the DVD player handy since I think but am not positiv they will want to look at it.

Good Luck, and Have LOTS of Fun!!

Not sure if you can even bring a juice box on (I don't think so), so just bring some snacks and a few toys.

Have fun!! I'm so jealous!

Re: Going Away With the Kids

When we took DS to Disney, he was 3. We brought a bag filled with new "toys" for him. They were things like the "magic pen" books, coloring/sticker books, those magnetic toys, etc. I got some things at the dollar store and some things at a local toy store, but didn't spend more than $5 (at the MOST) on any one toy. Every time he started to fidget, we'd pull out a new toy. Since they were all brand new, they kept his attention for a while. I am sure you could do something similar. BTW, we kept the toys in a special bag, only for travel. That way, they continued to be special. We periodically add to and remove things from the bag and use it for plane rides and car trips.
