Taking a break from house hunting

DH and I decided to take a break. after 3 1/2 months of looking, we're getting so discouraged. we just can't find anything affordable that we like. Chat Icon

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Sorry that you are getting discouraged. With the nicer weather more people should be putting their homes on the market. You will find something that you like. Try and keep an open mind when looking. When we bought our house it had dead horseshoe crabs nailed to the ceiling.Chat Icon They were going for the nautical look. We saw past it and think that our house looks really nice now. Bets of luck to you and keep looking. You will find something.

thanks, I appreciate the words of encouragement. We've seen one dump after another and frankly, with the insane prices they're asking, who has more $$ for renovations?

and all the houses in our range that are not dumps, are SO tiny! It’s very disheartening.

Chat Icon I hear you. We did the same thing...and then something great came up within our budget. You are making a good choice. Keep an open mind. It will all work out...I know it. Chat Icon

Re: Taking a break from house hunting

Been there...we took about 3 breaks during our 16 month search. It was during the last break that we stumbled onto something - right NEXT DOOR to the house we've been renting from Chat Icon

Keep an open mind...maybe narrow down your criteria, switch things up a little.

Good luck!

Re: Taking a break from house hunting

You can take a break from trying too hard and maybe something will just fall into your lap.

Me & DH emotionally gave up and this sunday something jumped out at us and it may be the one..

Good Luck!!

Re: Taking a break from house hunting

We looked every week for 7 months...it's frustrating. But it's worth it. We finally found the one we wanted, hands down over the rest. Don't settle or get too upset--yours will come along! And you'll get more options over the summer now.

Sorry to hijack- no one else has even put a bid on it, so we are going to try again. Hopefully they will let it go at the asking price now that they have had no other offers. I am so in love with that house its pathetic.
