First b-day help (another... sorry!)

So we all know there are quite a few of us celebrating a first bday soon... we're having something small, maybe 20-25 people, about 10 children ranging from 1 month to about 6 years old. I need ideas for food and activities for the kids. We have a large backyard so we're doing it there. I'm catering food for the adults, but what should I do for the kids? What about activities for the kids? We're not doing anything over-the-top, just laid back... any ideas??

I'm in the same boat. We're having it in our backyard, and will have 10-15 kids in the same age range as your party.

I do not want to organize any "pin the tail on the donkey" type stuff and I am not paying for entertainment this year, so I am definitely getting some "big" chalk, and some bubbles so that they can play independently. I also have an inflatable pool, which I am debating about (but honestly, probably won't put out). Otherwise, I don't know...are balls a big mistake?

As far as food, I'm probably not doing anything different from what the adults are getting, but I would think a tray of chicken fingers and one of fries would be good...kids don't eat too much anyhow. Also, definitely get juice boxes.

I'm probably not much help, but I am also interested in the replies!!

For kid food I am going to do chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese.
For activities how about renting a jumpy castle? How about a pinata? That would be fun for the older kids. I know most parties we go to all the kids seem to find a way to entertain themselves, especially when it's outside.
I still can't believe all these babies are going to be 1 already.

AS for activities I got those punching ballons from Oriental Trading company. Some crayons and coloring books.

I did it in my house and I kept it casual. I did do children friendly food as well as adult food. I made mac and cheese, chicken fingers, juice boxes, etc.

As for activities - I just left Kevin's toys out to play in his play room. I bought a jumper/ball pit castle and set it up in my family room - took up most of the room but kids seem to enjoy it - even the 6 year olds!

I love the ideas of a craft center/coloring center - but depends on your kids ages if it would work. Mine were mostly 1-2 so too young for it to go over well.

I am doing it in the yard too...I am probably getting a bouncy castle. Most of the kids are my cousins kids and they entertain themselves (they are ages 7 to 16) and then the rest are babies.
