Fetal Movement

Does anyone worry that they are not feeling enough fetal movement? I'm 30 wks. 1 day PG and just yesterday and today I haven't felt the baby move as much or as strongly. Seems like he/she is either sleeping or changed positions? I wonder if I should worry or call the Dr...

What would you do?

Are you feeling the baby at all? I try to control my worrying (not easy), but when I am really concerned about movemement I call. It could definitely be that the baby has changed positions, but you are the expert!

Re: Fetal Movement

Yes I feel the baby...but it feels like when I first started feeling it...more of a popping feeling than a strong feeling. Maybe the baby has moved? I am feeling that right now.

I was told as long as you feel the baby you're OK, but sometimes I worry anyway! It could definitely be that the baby has changed positions. Some days I definitely feel her a lot more than others. In fact, today is a day that I wish I was feeling her more!

Re: Fetal Movement

Also, as you get further along the movement is a little less, due to the growing baby and less room to move around alot. I wouldn't worry as long as you are feeling the baby.

Re: Fetal Movement

I am going through the same thing some days it is like she is just shifting but not any big kicks or hits. My friend says it is because she is running out of room. When i get nervous i usually make her move or check on her with the doppler. Best of luck.

Re: Fetal Movement

Do the "fetal movement test". Have a glass of milk or juice, wait 1/2 hr and then lay down on your left side, you should feel the baby move at least 3 times in 20 minutes. Make sure you;re drinking plnety of fluids, I was briefly admitted on Sunday because of decreased fetal movement and they said I was dehydrated. As the baby gets bigger the movements are not as pronounced as they were in the past, but it is vital to make sure you to a monitor the baby's movement at least 1/day.

Re: Fetal Movement

Do the "fetal movement test".

I agree. My Doc told me to do that. I have to keep a chart. Same time everyday I have to write down how long it takes to feel 10 "movements". Baby is too big now to really feel kicks. But you have to be totally undistracted. No TV... nothing.

But most importantly...if you are in doubt call your Dr.

Re: Fetal Movement

I just posted about my experience with no fetal movement.
I know that the further along you get they move less because they are more crowded in there so I wouldnt worry as long as you are feeling some movement.
Has you doctor told you to do kick counts yet?
