How often should a 4 month old be eating?
I am BFing and she eats just as often today as she did when she was a newborn....about 8-10x a day. I thought this was supposed to get easier

Are you feeding her cereal? Once Alex started with the cereal he started eating less often. Now at 7 1/2 months he eats every 4 hours.

Not yet. Just went to Dr. today and he said we could start. I'm not sure that I am ready cause she has a milk protein and soy allergy. She finally seems to be doing better so I am afraid to rock the boat with solids yet.
BUT...I did buy the rice cereal, bowls, and spoons today - just in case I get the courage

Jake is 4 months but he is formula fed (and cereal) so eats every 4 hrs.
From what I've read, I don't think it's unusual for breastfed babies to continue eating much more frequently than formula fed babies. The cereal should definitely help though. Jake was chugging 8oz of formula per sitting and crying for more at the end. Once the solids started, he's satisfied again.

This is true. BF babies will always feed more often than a formula fed baby because the breastmilk digests much faster. Since I have to supplement anyway I give Miranda her formula bottle before bed hoping it buys me a little extra sleep.
