Part-Timers - What type of work do you do?

Im interested in finding a part-time job - perhaps 2-3 days a week if possible.

Ive been a legal secretary for the past 6 years and would love to spend more time at home with the baby now.

For those that work part-time what do you do?

Any suggestions about where I can search for a job and make decent $ per hour?

Im game to work a few days in a law office but don't really know which companies are really looking for that.....

What do you do?

TIA

I suggest looking into a medical office!

I only work about 25 hrs a week b/c I take a full 18 credits every semester. Its not a fun job, but its not terrible. I know my office starts at $13/hr. Unfortunately they're not hiring right now!

Many libraries look for pt clerical workers. For full-time you have to take a Civil Service test but for pt they usually don't require it.

Why don't you do that from home. In my former job I worked with attorneys and you have no idea how many atty's need someone but don't want to pay a salary.

Depends, what type of teaching? I don't have a degree in education.

I would look on Craig's List and also post your resume there.. When I was doing my full-time job search, I noticed a ton of part time work opportunities.. Also, the smaller companies are more apt to post there-- as it is free- while monster, career builder, etc. are not.

Re: Part-Timers - What type of work do you do?

I do sales and marketing for a title company. I am on a 1099, so essentially it is my own business. I work from home and have client meetings 2-3 days a week. This situation worked out well for my company; they only pay me my commissions and that's it. Now that I am on maternity leave, they do not pay disability for me because I am on a 1099.

My DH has the medical benefits for our family and I have a ROTH IRA for myself. It has worked out well for us.

Good Luck!

I would post an ad. Perhaps call Suffolk or Nassau Bar association-ask them if there is any kind of newsletter you can advertise in. If you go on
Martindale-Hubbell website
You can search by graduation yr I think. I would target recent graduates and sole practitioners. Good luck
