Drinking and TTC
sorry if this has been posted before, but is it okay to drink while you are ttc? should you only drink before you O and hold off while you are in the 2 WW. I don't plan to get smashed, but how much is okay to drink? I'm planning on a happy hour tomorrow!

Re: Drinking and TTC
Some people skip drinking in the 2ww. Some dont, but I think we all make an effort not to drink too much or too often. I got a little tipsy Fri. night and Im in the 2www..but there are so many women who dont even know they are PG until they are 2 mos along and are drinking, smoking etc. I think its what ever you feel more comfortable. I drink one night on the wk end with friends...usually wine. I try not to drink too much mainly because I can't stand being hung over.

Re: Drinking and TTC
The dr told me (as well as other LIF/LIW ladies) that anything you consume BEFORE you get that BFP is fine. AFter all, some babies might be conceived under the influence of a good bottle of wine!

Re: Drinking and TTC
I'm trying to limit my comsumtion of alcohol and caffeine during my 2WW. I have very long, irregular cycles that are often anovulatory menses and I'm 34 so anything that could help I'm trying.

Re: Drinking and TTC
I haven't changed my drinking habits
If you're charting, alcohol consumption can affect your temps and throw off the charts, but otherwise I wouldn't worry about a few drinks.

Re: Drinking and TTC
I am trying to drink less, but I am not teetotalling....a few drinks here or there can't do much damage, especially if you stop when you get the BFP!

Re: Drinking and TTC
When we conceived our son I drank when I was "O". Then I stopped after "O". I see nothing wrong with it. It helps the sex part too since there can be stress with TTC.

Re: Drinking and TTC
I didn't change my drinking habits. I had a couple of big drinking nights (like my college reunion) after I conceived and when I found out I was preggo my dr said not to ever think twice about it. I never charted or anything - I was just letting nature take its course so I continued my life as usual. When I was late - I stopped drinking until I tested and of course stopped from then on.

I also think it's fine... just keep popping those prenatal vitamins, as well.
