Re: 4-5 month old eating scehdule--with cereal

That sounds like alot of fruit to me... I can't tell you how much BM he's taking in, but his eating schedule is:

6AM - nurses

8AM - 1/2 jar fruit only (he LOVES the bartlett pears!)

11AM - nurses

12PM - 1.5oz BM to 3.5-4 tblspns cereal (oatmeal w/ bananas cereal) no fruit

between 3-4PM nurses

6PM - 2.5oz BM to 6 tblspns cereal w/ 1/2 jar fruit (different from AM)

7:30PM bedtime - nurses

(Then, because he loves me so much he gets up another 2-3 times to nurse

ETA - I'm going to start veggies @ 5 mos - what I'll do is add cereal to the morning fruit, keep lunch the same and add veggies instead of the fruit to his dinner - I still want him to nurse the same amount for the benefits/calories of it.

Re: 4-5 month old eating scehdule--with cereal

Wow she's a good eater!

At 4 - 5 mos Jake's feeding schedule was:

6:30am -
2tbsp Cereal mixed w/ approx 2oz of formula
6 1/2 - 7oz bottle

10:30am -
8oz bottle

2:30pm -
8oz bottle

6:30pm -
2tbsp Cereal mixed with formula
6 1/2 to 7oz bottle

At 5 months we started veggies and fruits so instead of Cereal at the 6:30am and pm feedings he would have a jar of veggie or a jar of fruit. (All Stage 1 2.5oz jars) I would alternate - if he had a fruit in the am he would have a veggie at night.

Your feeding schedule sounds fine to me, just check with your pediatrician how much formula total she should be having in a day because I know mine told me not to go below 26oz.

Also, I could never Jake to take 5-6tbsp of cereal - he just wouldn't take it! He'll be 7 months tomorrow and he still doesn't eat that much cereal.

6am- 2 tblspns of oatmeal and anywhere between 1/3- 1/2 of fruit
6oz bottle to follow

10am- 6 oz bottle

12- 2 tblspns of oatmeal and 1/3-1/2 jar of fruit

2- 6oz bottle

6- 6oz bottle
2tblspns of oatmeal 1/3-1/2 jar of fruit

then he takes a bath...get ready for bed...

I always top him off @ 7 with 1-3oz
