Re: 5 small meals a day?
Whenever I can, I eat small things every three hours. If I can't, it's my three relatively small meals and that's it. At least there's nutrition going in.
ETA: I find that jello pudding cups are good, carrot stalks with ranch dressing, an apple, etc. work for me.

Re: 5 small meals a day?
My bfast and lunches are usually small...a serving of cereal or a homeade sandwich (made not too big unlike the deli sandwiches!) For dinner I eat whatever DH is eating, just a lot less.
My snacks in between meals are usually sweet and under 200 calories but ideally around 100 calories and include either a lot of fiber or protien:
fruit - apples (I eat them every day usually, I've been craving them!) or bananas
a low fat oat bar from the health food store (150 cals)
pria bars (w/real sugar)
yogurt (lucky for me I like plain yogurt)
soy chips

I am on the grazing diet. I eat all day long.
Snacks often include:
chewy granola bars chewy DIPPS granola bars kudos bars jello pineapples apples grapes chips (i try to buy the low sodium variety) club crackers...plain popsicles (i love the edy's strawberry fruit bars)
i just snack often and keep my 3 meals small.
oh, and TONS of water.

Re: 5 small meals a day?
I snack on cheese, the planters nuts n chocolate mix, cherries, strawberries, jello pudding cups, almonds, - mostly small, portable things. I'm too busy to make small meals so I try to take the easy way out!

this sounds a lot like my diet except instead of a sandwich for lunch i have a small soup and a whole wheat pita. I have Fiber one with light soy milk for breakfast, apple for mid-morning snack, granola bar for afternoon snack and then a small dinner (typically a pizza bagel, 2 chicken & black bean fajitas, or a turkey burger)

Re: 5 small meals a day?
I pretty much only have snacks throughout the day...I keep track in a food journal to make sure that Im actually eating enough. I have found that eating little snacks is the way to go.
