5 week 5 day sono
Saw the yolk and obvious growth, dr b was happy but he wasnt able to see the HB yet...I go Thursday and now im really worried...

i know my doctor doesnt even see patients until at least 7-8 weeks for that reason- everything is probably fine and you will see it at your next appointment

I had my first sono at exactly the same time - I even O early, so I could have been later - but didn't see a HB. I could barely see the bean! I went back at 8 weeks, everything was fine.

Yeah really dont worry! Its way early to hear the heartbeat. You shouldnt be concerned, I didnt hear it when I first went they only saw the sac and 2 weeks later it was a perfect heartbeat!!

All I had at 6 weeks was an empty sac. 6 days later(6 weeks 6 days) there was a yolk sac, fetal pole and heart beat!

oh gosh, thanks everyone...if anyone went to dr B when did they see it...I wish his machine was a little more high tech!!!

i wouldnt be worried.....both pregnancies i had sonos at 5 weeks...and the sacs were empty.....2 weeks later we saw baby and HB good luck

I'm not a doctor or anything but my guess would be that there is no machine that's going to pick up something so tiny- the baby is the size of a sesame seed at this point, so its pretty incredible that they even see it

THis post actually makes me feel alot better so I can assure you that this is the SAME THING I saw last week when I went - I got blood drawn just to check my levels so that I can ease some worry and am going to wait 2 more weeks for a sono :) Good Luck!!!

I had the same experience. Went in at what was 5 weeks, 3 days and only saw the yolk sack. I was so worried. Went back in at 6 weeks, 6 days and everything was totally fine. We were able to hear a strong heart beat. Hang in there, I know that tome in between seems SO long, but it will be worth it when you hear the HB!

Definitely do not stress it. I had a sono at 6w3d and they couldn't see a heartbeat. It wasn't until 7w2d we saw the HB and then saw a 2nd HB, found out we were having twins.
Everything is way too little right now for them to make any determinations. I'm sure the baby is fine! Think about it. At 5 weeks the baby is only the size of a sesame seed! I can barely see a sesame seed on my plate let alone an organ that is supposed to be inside of it

Dont be worried, it's still too ealry.
I had an appt at 6 w 3 d and no HB, but went back a week later and then saw a STRONG HB. Now here I am 29 weeks later.
Next appt you will be fine!!
