Past poster needs your prayers IRISHLASS UPDATE Pattys message to everyone page 6!!!
IrishLass (patty) and i met over a year ago here on the IF boards. We became good friends, our dh became friends, we went thru heartaches of mc's, went thru months after months of disappointments , she helped dh plan my baby shower... the friendship became a true friendship. she is Aunt Patty to my son
She accepted the end of her IF journey her last cycle almost a year ago. as heartbreaking as it was seeing her struggling for 3 years with IUI cycles several IVF cycles, having multiple mc and many disappointments, it was a relief for her to finally get her life back with her dh
She has been living life and really enjoying herself.3 weeks ago she was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. the cancer has spread to a lymph node behind her sternum
Today she is having a double mastectomy and in 2 months she will have both her ovaries removed bc her cancer is estrogen diriven.
her drs are confident this will force her cancer into remission.
Please if u made it this far reading this, please say a special prayer for my dear friend Patty.
I know theres alot of new IF'ers here .
most of the IF'ers have moved on since Patty and i were on this board - but i know like myself, many people past if'ers come on this board to offer support and hope.
keep patty in your prayers today - may God protect her and give her the strength she needs to endure this.

UPDATE AT 3:10PM
first part done. dr was able to clean cancer out of her neck as well. they are starting reconstruction now
UPDATE AT 9:30pm
patty is in recovery and she looks good. everything went well. i will know more tomorrow and keep u guys posted.
UPDATE 3
My husband spoke to her husband this morning and while pattys 11 hr surgery was successful she is in alot of pain.
Some friends of Patty are asking if they can do anythign to help -- food etc..
She is not going to be mobile for quite some time and i think Gift Cards to local resturaunts would be great.
UPDATE 4
I just came back from the hospital and patty looks fantastic! I sometimes dont look that good on my good days LOL!!
There was one area the drs couldnt get to (we knew this b4) and that was behind the sternum. Her drs are confident once her ovaries are removed it will bring that cancer into remission right away bc it is estrogen driven.
I stayed with her for a couple of hours and she is hopeful and such a strong woman.
She is excited to be going home tomorrow (superbowl!!!) !! Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers - i told her about this post but its different reading everyones good wishes and prayers!

OMG, I just got chills!!!! what a life story....
Please let her know that she has my prayers!! I have 2 very close family members who are breast cancer survivors so I know exactly what she is going thru....she will be in my thoughts!!!!

Many, many thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family during this difficult time. I pray she will make it through the procedures with flying colors and will be able to enjoy a long, healthy life with her DH cancer free!

MAny thoughts and prayers. I had the pleasure of meeting Patty a little over a year ago @ a mutual friends house and she is such a sweet woman, i wish her the best.

Oh, I am devastated to read this. Pls FM me if there is anything you can think of that Patty and her DH might need in the next few weeks....I live minutes away from her and would be more than willing to do anything they need. Many, many prayers for them.
