Nicholas Anthony 4/20/10
Monday 4/19 i had an appt at my docs office for 12. About 12:15 he did his exam and my water broke! off to the hospital I went. I was finally checked in at about 3 and they started pitocin and I was only about 2 cm. They kept increasing the pitocin and even tho I was so against getting an epi I couldn't take it anymore. I knew the night I had ahead of me also so my DH and doc just said to get it too. All my fears of it were so silly. It was nothing. I think the IV the nurse did in my hand hurt more! I did however have a reaction to the epi and my heart dropped and so did the baby's. I was petrified but they finally got us both stable I just had the shakes for awhile. I also got a fever so they started antibiotics. I didn't progress at all till morning and I was about 4cm at 4am. My doc knew I was heading toward a c section but they didn't want to give up yet even tho I did. By 12pm on 4/20 they finally decided to give me the c section. The warned me that because I had a fever there was a chance the baby would be taken to the NICU. They prepped me for the c section and I heard the doc say he was ready. They called in my DH I dont even then he was sitting more then 2 min and the baby was out crying. We couldn't believe how fast. At 1:06pm our son Nicholas Anthony was born 8lbs 21 inches! They took him to the NICU because my placenta was infected. I rem being in recovery and someone explaining to me the tests that had to be run on the baby because of the infection. Thank god everything on the baby was negative and we were both fine. I wasn't able to see him until the next day which was like torture to me. He spent the entire time that were were in the hosp in the NICU because they had to give him antibiotics as precaution. It was supposed to be for 7 days and I was going to have to leave without him but the docs decided that 5 days was plenty since everything was negative and they let him come home when i was released! I really thought the c section recovery was going to be horrible but i have to say its not bad at all i had slight pain but since i am not BF the doc gave me pain meds and its fine now.

Tooo cute... I'm glad everything worked out for the best. Now you have a healthy GORGEOUS baby
